Members of the Sherwood Shores Volunteer Fire Department attend numerous training sessions during the year.  Some are mandatory, but many are also on a "volunteer" basis.  We normally meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month and usually have some form of training during those meetings, if in fact the entire meeting is not scheduled for training.

Plans are being made for attendance at Texas A&M Fire Training School the third week of July for several members.  The Texas Forestry Service is again paying for tuition, room (dorm only) and meals.  This year we are including Safety Officer, Emergency Care Attendant and Officer Training.

 On 5/30/10, Sherwood Shores assisted Gordonville and Sadler FDs with a grass fire in a hayfield off hwy 901, Southeast of Gordonville.
