The Fire Department held our Annual Memorial Day Weekend Saturday Morning Breakfast on May 29th. The below photos are of that event. We want to thank everyone that came by and hope you were impressed enough to come back again. We served eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. I don't know of anyone leaving hungry. We did have some suggestions that we do this monthly or at least more often than once a year.
We want to thank Sam's Wholesale Club of Sherman for donating the plates this year. We thought we could keep up with the number of plates used to determine the number of breakfasts served, but when we thought we had used all of the Sam's plates and started using our own, we then found another stack of the Sam's plates that had been put into the cabinets, so we lost count. We planned on serving approximately 300 and with what we had left over and estimating the money taken in, we estimate we served about 250 plates. The tables were set up to accommodate 45-50 at one seating. We started serving at 7:00am and we had a pretty consistent group from 8:00am till 10:30am with several "take out" plates.
After paying our expenses we deposited just under $1000.00 in our bank account. This will go toward meeting our portion of the tanker grant which is $9750.00 for our portion. Thanks to everyone who helped us make this a worthwhile event.
Getting Cleaned up for the Breakfast
Making room in the bays for cleaning.
We look forward to next year and I hope to add Hash Browns to the menu. I got overruled this year. Hope to see everyone again.
